Ribbon Bar, St John Service Medal
St John Service Medal silver and gold service bars are awarded for each additional five years of satisfactory service, using the same eligibility criteria and application process as the original medal.

Silver Bars represent additional service from 10 to 25 years.

Gold Bars represent additional service from 30 years onward.
On the ribbon bar, these bars are shown using a cross device in either silver or gold, depending on the total qualifying years of service. Each device corresponds to the number of earned bars.
a. 10 years – Service Medal (no device)
b. 15 years – Service medal (1 Silver Device)
c. 20 years – Service Medal (2 Silver Devices)
d. 25 years – Service medal (3 Silver Devices)
e. 30 years – Service medal (1 Gold Device)
f. 35 years – Service medal (2 Gold Devices)
g. 40 years – Service medal (3 Gold Devices)
h. 45 years – Service medal (4 Gold Devices)
The thin ribbon bar version includes built-in mounting pins and butterfly clutches. When ordering different ribbon bars they will be mounted as one unit, unless specified when ordering.
The slide version of the ribbon bars require a ribbon mount, sold separately.
