Ribbon, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal

The Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal was instituted in 1908 for part-time ratings after twelve years’ service and good conduct. It was the naval equivalent of the Volunteer Long Service Medal.

It was also awarded throughout the British Empire. In the United Kingdom it was discontinued in 1966 after the RNVR merged with the Royal Naval Reserve and was replaced by the Royal Naval Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. The New Zealand version remains in use.
