Ribbon, India General Service Medal (1936)

The Indian General Service Medal (1936) was a British campaign medal approved on 3 August 1938 for award to officers and men of the British Army, Indian Army, and Royal Air Force.

The medal recognized service in minor military operations on the North-West Frontier of India between 1936 and 1939.

Following Indian independence in 1947, the medal became obsolete, although it remained authorized for wear by British, Indian, and Pakistani servicemen who had previously qualified.
