Ribbon, Royal Naval Wireless Auxiliary Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal
The Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal was the long-service award for Royal Navy reserve forces, established in 1909. It recognised 12 or 15 years’ service by petty officers and ratings of the Royal Naval Reserve and associated reserve bodies, including the RNVR and Royal Fleet Reserve. The medal was replaced by the Volunteer Reserves Service Medal.
The Royal Fleet Reserve version was awarded for 15 years of combined active and reserve service and was discontinued on 1 April 2000, to align Royal Navy practice with that of the other services, which did not separately recognize regular reserve service.
