It will be awarded after 50 \u003cbr\u003eyears of qualifying service and will replace the silver Service Medal of the Order \u003cbr\u003eand Laurel Leaf. \u003cbr\u003eThe ULS Medal Extension takes the form of the same medal as the Service \u003cbr\u003eMedal, but finished in gold with a distinctive thin gold stripe through the centre \u003cbr\u003eof the existing black and white ribbon to differentiate it from the silver Service \u003cbr\u003eMedal. \u003cbr\u003eThe awarding of the ULS Medal Extension will replace the Service Medal after \u003cbr\u003e50 years of qualified service and beyond and is not to be worn along with the \u003cbr\u003esilver Service Medal.
